My daughter is in French Immersion and cannot read English very well. Is this a problem?

Choral music and language acquisition go hand in hand! What we have found is that girls who are learning French in an immersion program at school actually accelerate their language skills in English when they sing in our choir. Our rehearsals are run in English, and in our beginning choir level, most of the songs are in English.
We expect the singers in grade 1 to have started their basic knowledge of English; however, we also recognize that singers speak and read languages at different rates. All the girls sing in numerous languages other than English and French – another benefit of joining our choir.
