You Be the Judge and Vote for BC Girls Choir!

The 2018 Parade of Nations after we won the top trophy!

You can be a judge at the famous Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. This prestigious, yearly choral competition in Wales has been cancelled due to the world pandemic. But, the singing has not ceased. Now, you can vote for your favourite of the 43 children’s choir performances, chosen from the past quarter century of competition!

Only two of these choirs are Canadian – the wonderful Shallaway Youth Choir from Newfoundland and Labrador (2015 winner) and our very own British Columbia Girls Choir (2018 winner).

Enjoy this short video, which will lead you to the Children’s Choir Category 2. Then choose your favourite performance – the green Vote Now button is at the top of the page. The first video is from 1994 and, as you scroll down, we hope you will be inspired with BC Girls Choir’s 2018 performance of ‘Ban, Ban, Caliban’, depicting the monstrous ogre in Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Music is by Dan Forrest. The director is Fiona Blackburn and the impressive accompaniment is performed by Eric Hominick.

As we wait until it is safe to sing together again, we hope you will stay safe as well, and perhaps fill some of your days with music such as that of the Llangollen Eisteddfods gone-by.
