My daughter is in French Immersion and cannot read English very well. Is this a problem?

Choral music and language acquisition go “hand in hand”!

  • What we have found is that girls who are learning French in an immersion program at school, actually accelerate their language skills in English when they sing in our choir.
  • Our rehearsals are run in English and, in our beginning choir level, most of the songs are in English.
  • We expect the singers in Grade 1 to have started their basic knowledge of English; however, we also recognize that singers speak and read languages at different rates.
  • All the girls sing in numerous languages other than English and French – another benefit of joining our choir.
